Lt. Carl Yastremski "Racer X"
George Karpowitz
Doug - After a shady past George had to reinvent himself. He choose the USCAF to hide for a while. He was to be promoted just before the invasion occurred.
Carl/George's past caught up to him Hard Time at the ANMCC when Peter Krebs framed the squad for stealing military hardware. Peter was the former of partner of "Black" Joe Reddick, an FBI agent that George killed before reinventing himself.
Lt. John Bell Hood "Sam"
Steve - Lt. John Bell Hood, 24 years old, was born in Texas of an upper middle class family. He has a sister and brother, who like his parents, are terribly fond of him.
Hood went to school with the intention of becoming a doctor, studying premed. Upon graduation, Hood entered the U.S. Armed forces. this sudden switch to military life was precipitated by his studying the history of his namesake, Maj. General John Bell Hood, CSA.
Hood became quite skilled in the piloting of Meks and in Mek combat. He also studied earnestly to become knowledgeable in the technical aspects of his war machine. He continued his training as a doctor joining a squad of medics. It was during this time that Hood made his two bitterest enemies, Lt. Clay Erb, and Lt. Lee Randazzo. A freak accident of Meks on the Canadian border killed several officers. Hood was part of the team of men which attempted to revive the fallen men. Both Erb and Randazzo were convinced Hood shirked his responsibilities, and allowed Lt. Jerry Christien and Lt. Igor Svelinski, men whom Hood was not on good terms with to die.
Following investigations, Hood requested transfer to combat duty.
Hood's arm was shot off by a alien assault laser wielded by an alien trooper in the second part of Scavenger As luck would have it he had just raided a hospital and with Mate's help he was able to attach the new arm.
Lt. Claude Mate
Earl (moved to London half way through the campaign and has been religated to security detail ever since) - a Mek tech and pilot, History never coming.
In Endgame he drove the Sleven up to the ANMCC to create a viable force for the diversion.
Lt. Max Taylor
Ed - Born (2024) in "Da Bronx" NY, Max was the standard, shinning product of the public school system, Max's skill at "finding homes for liberated items" helped him pay for his Bachelors in Business at State University, NY Binghamton (SUNY Binghamton). The rest of his tuition was paid for by the ROTC program. After passing through basic training and officers school, Max began a stellar career in supply/support, quickly rising to 1st Lieutenant and receiving several commendations for expert paper pushing.
Lt. Taylor "fought" along side of now Capt. Walker in Iraq. Due to a computer glitch which reversed the series of the 12 digit serial number, Max ordered for the unit 10 tons of Extra spicy taco sauce instead of the requested 10 tons of API ammo.
Capt. Walker's help prevented Max from being court martialed and the Capt. moved him to his new unit, where Max has trained hard and long to show the Capt. that he didn't make a mistake saving Max's ass.
Captain David Walker
NPC - Capt. David Walker is a decorated veteran of the Iraqi Civil war. During the the war he distinguished himself with a near suicidal act of bravery that saved his unit and really should have cost him his life. Instead it cost him his left arm below the elbow. After the arm was replaced he was sent to OTS where he excelled at small unit tactics. After graduation he was assigned to the mechanized infantry. After his first tour of Egypt he was given his first real command.
The captain was killed by an alien commander, in the first type 2 powerarmor squad had ever seen, in Out of the Minds of Babes
Lt. Avery Jones
NPC - Lt Avery Jones was a small time punk with to many minor infractions on his record, however he came from an influential family. His father pulled some stings and got him sent to the military academy instead of jail. Avery excelled at the academy. Despite everyone's efforts he was assigned to mechanized infantry and sent into a combat situation. Though an efficient fighter and team player he has never lost the punk exterior (curbed by military dress codes, but that can't help attitude and civilian wardrobe.)
Avery lost his leg in Invasion! but it was replaced with a prosthetic during the second part of Second part of Scavenger.
Avery was knocked out and captured in The Loss of a Soldier. He is presumed dead but there is no evidence to confirm this.
In Spider web a message from Avery showed up strapped to the bodies of Juan Martinez and Jeremy Von Detrick. The message was a self proclaimed welcome to Hell, and a promise that more would follow.
In Storming the Castle Avery Jones set an ambush for the squad. While the squad was investigating the Sleven he surrounded the Pez Dispenser. When Yastremski and Hood showed up he attacked with three other type 2 powerarmors to back him up. The three thugs were destroyed but in the process Hood's powerarmor was shutdown and all of Yastremski's ranged weapons were destroyed. Yastremski and Jones fought each other sword to shield in a long drawn out battle niether making any headway. Yastremski finally killed Jones by pushing him in front of the Pez Dispenser. Fitz, who was in the pilot's chair at this moment fired the main guns reducing Jones to little bits of alien powerarmor bone.
Lt. Rick Landry
NPC - Lt. Rick Landry is the product of small town culture, a culture he couldn't even begin to stand. When the chance came he joined the military and fled his home town. He was initially in supply were he figured out how to make things work his way, it's also where he became addicted to gambling. When he made to many enemies in supply he got himself transferred to mechanized infantry.
Landry was killed during Endgame when he was hit by main guns of a Pez Dispenser class craft.
Jeremy VonDetrick
NPC - Before the invasion he was into a survival and the owner of a gun and pawn store. He is well connected with other paranoid survivalists.
Jeremy was kind enough to arm the squad during Invasion. He also put them in contact with the survivalists in Going Underground.
Von Detrick was killed sometime after Avery Jones was broken. His dead cocooned body was delivered to the squad as with a message in Spider Web.
Henry Wallace
NPC - Henry owned a garage in a truck stop East of Tampa. After the initial attack he was getting ready to flee either North or South looking for rural area. Just before he left he squad came in. Henry decided to accompany the Squad and is with them now.
The squad met Henry in Scavengers. Henry accompanied the squad up until Endgame where he left with most everyone else heading up to ANMCC.
Twen
NPC - Twen is a little girl between 8 and 10 who was hiding in the ventilation system in Henry's truck stop. Her parents were traveling from the everglades when the invasion struck. They were killed in the panic after the attack.
In Going Underground Twen demonstrated a resonance with the alien invaders. The exact details of this resonance isn't known but she has used it to detect aliens.
In Out of the Minds of Babes Twen demonstrates a limited amount of control over and protection from alien troops the exact extent and nature of the control is still unknown.
In The Visit of a Stranger the Stranger visits Hood and indicates that "the child is the key"
In Conversation with the Shock Troop an alien reveals that to thier mind Twen is a Silver Lorax. Which would be the highest ranking ruler during times of peace but during war the Silver Waedrus can overrule her.
In Storming the Castle Twen's presense in instrumental in taking control of the Sleven.
In Endgame Twen is able to declare peace within the Alien collective and end the war.
Commander Strall
NPC - All that is really known about Commander Strall is that he is a Fourth Commander in the invading army and he is charge of securing the peninsula (believed to mean Florida). The only reason he is known at all is that he made a declaration in Scavengers II declaring the above along with orders about submitting to the invaders. By Going Underground Strall's voice could be heard all the way out to the truck stop.
Juan Martinez
NPC - Juan Martinez is a member of the survivalist commune that the squad hooked up with at the end of Going underground. During Ear to the Ground Juan was smuggled back into Tampa where he hooked up with VonDetrick and the black market. He acts as the eyes and ears in the city. He gets info out by Semafore (no really) and and small programable submirsible (a camera with an engine attached).
In Visit of a Stranger Martinez failed to report. He hasn't made any reports since he's assumed captured or dead.
Martinez was killed sometime after Avery Jones was broken. His dead cocooned body was delivered to the squad as with a message in Spider Web.
Fitz
NPC - Fitz is the patriarch and leader of the survivalists. He's the one who technically owns the land and started the camp. Now in his sixties, he's an ex marine from the days when there still were a Marine Corps. After almost 15 years of field duty in Columbia he never really adjusted to civilian life.
Fitz and his survivalist went to the ANMCC to aid in the diversion in Endgame. He did not survive the battle, his body was never recovered.
Col. Hawthorne
NPC - Col. Hawthorne is second in command of the ANMCC. He was first seen in Hard Time at the ANMCC. After the squad was let go, Hawthorne aranged a method of contacting him.
The squad convinced Hawthorne to launch a diversionary attack during Endgame. The diversion allowed them to slip into a different spire and declare peace. Before the attack Sleven, and most of the people involved in the campaign were sent to the ANMCC.
Gen. Ross Gilbert
NPC - Gen. Gilbert is the commander of the ANMCC. He was in line for the secretary of defense but lost that political battle and was sent out of the way at the ANMCC. At this stage of his life he more of a politicain then a General. He is unwilling to commit resources to skirmishes. He believes some sort of political solution is viable.
Gilbert died in an "accident" three weeks before the final battle during Endgame.
Peter Krebs
NPC - Peter Krebs was the partner to "Black" Joe Reddick, an FBI agent that Yastremski had a particular violent skirmish with before he re-invented himself. Yastremski killed Reddick. Krebs was at ANMCC in Hard Time at the ANMCC. He arranged for the squad to be framed for theft of military hardware. His plot was unravelled but his current whereabouts are unknown.
The Stanger
NPC - The Stranger appeared in Hood's room aboard the Pez Dispenser and tells much. He gave out the Zhadaggi technical manual, as well as a Language translater expert system. He also indicated that "The child is the key."
In Storming the Castle he contacts Twen and tells her to turn back the assault on the Spire.
In Endgame he is revealed as a Lorax, the alien caste who rules during times of peace. He explained about the civil war existing between the Waedrus and the Lorax and Twen's place in it.
